Resize image to 20 KB (compress photo to 20 KB)
Compress a photo to 20 KB or less as a JPG. Set exact pixels or keep proportions; the tool searches JPEG quality and steps the size down until the file lands between 10 and 20 KB.
About
Many government and bank forms cap a photo at 20 KB. A modern phone photo is often 3–5 MB at 4000 × 3000 px, so getting it that small takes two things at once: fewer pixels and stronger JPEG compression.
Worked example: a 3.2 MB, 4032 × 3024 phone photo is first capped at 1000 px wide. At 1000 × 750 even the lowest quality the tool will use (30%) is usually well above 20 KB, so it steps the size down by 15% at a time — typically ending somewhere near 450–550 px wide — and keeps the highest quality that lands around 18 KB, a little under the 20 KB ceiling. If your form also fixes the pixels, type them in and the tool only searches quality.
