About
Passport Seva’s ICAO photo guideline asks for a colour photo of 630 × 810 px with a white background and the face filling 80–85% of the frame. It does not state a file-size limit, and it asks for a photo "unaltered by computer software" — so the tool only crops and re-saves, without whitening or padding.
Worked example: a 12-megapixel photo taken against a white wall is cropped so the face fills about 80% of the frame and resized to 630 × 810 px. Saved at 95% JPEG quality it typically weighs around 150–300 KB, well under 1 MB. If your background is not white, retake the photo rather than editing it.
